According to the latest rumors, Euron Greyjoy will have a huge role to play in the next season of "Game of Thrones," as he is speculated to partner with Cersei to keep the Iron Throne.
The fans will remember that Daenerys Targaryen is on her way to Westeros aboard a ship as she crosses the Narrow Sea along with Yara and Theon Greyjoy. However, recent report by Watchers on the Wall suggests that their journey is going to be anything but smooth. In fact, if filming of the upcoming season is any indication, the entourage will be in the middle of a battle, started by Euron, before they reach Westeros. There is also rumor that the vengeful Greyjoy uncle will capture one of the two Greyjoy heirs in the next season.
According to the spoilers, Euron is also expected to form a team with Cersei, in pursuit of the iron throne. In season 6 finale, Cersei became the Queen of Westeros after her son, Tommen Baratheon, committed suicide. The publication indicates that for Euron to bring his Iron Throne dream to fruition, allying with Cersei is the only logical move, as his efforts to woo the Mother of Dragons will likely fail.
Needless to say, the pair have a lot in common. They both scored their run on their respective thrones by using treachery and they both had to kill family members to get there. In fact, the fans would also agree that the two don't have a lot of allies in their respective kingdoms.
Since Yara and Theon escaped just in time to form an alliance with Daenerys Targaryen, Euron will need a strong partner to keep his position strong in the game. Cersei Lannister, in this situation, is anybody's guess.
Another point to note here is Jamie's obvious absence from the speculations about Cersei and Euron alliance. At this point, it is safe to assume that the incestuous relationship between the twins is falling apart and a good time for Jaime to disassociate himself from his evil sister. Regardless of the outcome between these siblings, if there is an alliance on the cards, it will certainly be a formidable one, The Business Insider reported.
