Phil Brooks, more famously known as CM Punk, lost his UFC debut on Sunday against Mickey Gall by submission. CM Punk's former employer, the WWE, took a shot at his forgettable debut in a match at Backlash between The Miz and Dolph Ziggler.

The 37-year-old former WWE superstar got beat up real bad and quick by his opponent, who submitted him in just over two minutes. His post fight comments were inspirational to many but the wrestling company he used to work for apparently mocked his failed venture into a new sport.

According to Yahoo! Sports, the start of the Intercontinental title match between The Miz and Ziggler was very similar to CM Punk and Gall's fight. The Miz tried punching Ziggler at the start but he got taken down with The Showoff pounding him in the ground and applying a rear-naked choke.

But unlike in the UFC, The Miz got to the ropes to force a break. It should be noted that CM Punk had a very bad breakup with the WWE in 2014. He walked out of the company because of the direction of his character on television.

The former WWE champion went on a tirade during a podcast and took a shot at his former employers including Vince McMahon and Triple H. He also revealed that WWE doctor Chris Amman misdiagnosed a MRSA infection which could have been fatal.

The WWE got back to CM Punk by firing him on his wedding day but McMahon later told Steve Austin that it was just all a "miscommunication." Nevertheless, the fight between CM Punk and the WWE is not over since McMahon is bankrolling a lawsuit against his former employee.

In a recent interview with AXT TV, CM Punk said that McMahon is funding Dr. Amman's lawsuit against him and Colt Cabana for all the disparaging remarks they made in their infamous podcast. He was asked if he had any contact with Vinny Mac before his UFC debut.

"Do me and Vince text? No, he's currently bankrolling a lawsuit against me, so I don't think he's going to be reaching out. 'Hey pal, how ya doing? I'm suing you, LOL!'" Punk said.

For now, the former WWE superstar recovers from a heartbreaking truth that he is not ready for mixed martial arts. Nonetheless, he has gotten a lot of respect from his fellow MMA fighters and former WWE colleagues but his haters and former bosses are going to enjoy his loss.
