A wave of suspensions rocked the WWE these past several months highlighted by then-WWE champion Roman Reigns and likes of Alberto Del Rio, Paige and Eva Marie. The latest rumors have revealed the real reasons why these superstars were suspended.
In a recent interview with Mas Lucha, Del Rio revealed the reason why he got suspended and he thinks it was unfair. He mentioned that he underwent a doctor recommended testosterone replacement therapy but he failed to notify WWE about it.
"When it is like in my case, a testosterone replacement, where I am a 40-year-old man and it is a medical matter that I have proof of from my doctors. I don't think it is something fair," Del Rio said, as transcribed by Wrestling Inc.
According to The Inquisitr, the suspension of Del Rio is the same as with Adam Rose and Eva Marie. Rose, who was granted his release during his suspension, and Eva Marie revealed in their official statements that they had a prescription for taking Adderall.
The former WWE superstar was using it for ADHD while Ms. All Red Everything did not reveal the reason for her use of Adderall. It was probably to maintain her weight since the substance can also be used to lose weight.
On the other hand, Reigns was also reportedly suspended for Adderall since he also had ADHD just like Rose. The difference was that Reigns did not protest his suspension and apologized to the locker room for his mistake.
As for Paige, the substance she got suspended for has not been revealed. There were rumors that her suspension was due to her relationship with Del Rio but sources say that the WWE is serious about its Wellness Policy.
Some earlier reports noted that the WWE conducted a wave of drug tests after Brock Lesnar failed his USADA test for his UFC fight. It just caught a lot of stars off guard as most of them did not notify the company of their prescriptions.
Nevertheless, these are just purely speculative at the moment and all current suspensions for Paige and Eva Marie are about to end. Check out the video below to know which superstars were stripped of their titles for failing the WWE Wellness Policy.
