"The Vampire Diaries" season 8 recently dropped photos from the premiere episode "Hello, Brother."
According to TV Line, the snaps gave fans a first look at Alaric (Matt Davis) and Caroline's (Candice Accola-King) new nanny Seline (Kristen Gutoskie). While speaking with the publication, executive producer Julie Plec explained, "Alaric hasn't had the best luck with women. I don't know if he should be jumping into anything anytime soon, but if he does, the hot nanny would certainly be viable," she said.
Meanwhile, one of the photos showed Alaric and Caroline talking about something that looked really important. There are rumors that the estranged couple could be talking about their plans for their twins. Another photo showed Damon (Ian Somerhalder) looking scary as ever. The character recently turned to his dark side after being trapped in the Armory vault.
Some photos also showed Damon and Enzo (Michael Malarkey) trying to attack innocent individuals. Both male characters will go through a series of unfortunate events and killing spree after their stay in the vault.
In other news, The CW just dropped a new teaser for "The Vampire Diaries" season 8. The clip showed some of the highlights that will take place in the upcoming episodes. There are also ongoing rumors that Nina Dobrev will return to "The Vampire Diaries" season 8 to reprise her role as Elena Gilbert. Even though the actress hasn't confirmed her return yet, it's possible that she will do so.
Last month, CW president Mark Pedowitz confirmed that Dobrev is already in discussions with the producers of "The Vampire Diaries." "There are discussions going on with Nina. We'd love to have Nina back. She was great for The CW. She was integral for 'The Vampire Diaries.' Hopefully she'll be back, but should it not work out, Julie Plec has planned a great series finale that will satisfy fans," he said.
Pedowitz also weighed in on the cancellation of "The Vampire Diaries" after eight seasons. "We collectively came to the same place. Julie really got there before either Peter or I did, which was this was the right time to end the series, go out in the right way."
"The Vampire Diaries" season 8 will premiere on The CW on Oct. 21 at 8 p.m. ET.
