When asked if a possible "A Walk to Remember" reunion would ever happen, Mandy Moore, 32, definitely did not shoot down the idea. In a recent interview, the singer-turned-actress gave a little more context to why a reunion would not be such a bad idea.
In a sit-down interview with People, Moore revealed that she is still in contact with her "A Walk to Remember" co-star Shane West, 38. The actress added that she and West are updating one another about their respective shows.
Moore stated that they have looked at hanging out soon to celebrate the film's 15th anniversary. The hit coming-of-age romantic film, based on Nicholas Sparks' 1999 novel of the same name, was released on Jan. 25, 2002.
"I feel like we should get together with as much of the cast [that] is around and see if we can finagle a social media picture or something like that," Moore added. "I think it'd be fun."
However, Moore stressed that gathering the entire cast is not going to be easy. West, who played Landon Rollins Carter in "A Walk to Remember," currently portrays John Alden in WGN's supernatural fiction drama "Salem."
Other co-stars like Clayne Crawford and Lauren German are also working on their respective projects. The former, who played Landon's friend Dean, is busy filming "Lethal Weapon," while the latter currently stars opposite Tom Ellis on FOX's "Lucifer."
Directed by Adam Shankman, "A Walk to Remember" recounts the story of a 17-year-old Landon Carter, who figures out how to live differently after meeting Jamie Sullivan (Moore). At first, Landon is the kind of guy who thinks a lot about what people think of him. However, when James comes into the picture, he just thinks about being with her.
The film was met with generally positive reviews from the public, especially in the Christian community because of its moral values. It has grossed $41,281,092 in North America and $6,213,824 in other territories for a worldwide total of $47,494,916, according to Box Office Mojo.
Meanwhile, Moore will co-star as Rebecca in NBC's upcoming series "This Is Us." Other stars include Milo Ventimiglia, Justin Hartley, Chrissy Metz, Sterling K. Brown, Susan Kelechi Watson, Ron Cephas Jones, Chris Sullivan, and Gerald McRaney.
