Reigning champions Leicester City FC (2-3-1, 7 points) had been struggling in their title-defense so far in the 2016-2017 Premier League season. They are scheduled to host streaking team Southampton FC (2-2-2, 8 points) at the King Power Stadium on Oct. 2, Sunday to try and find new momentum to their campaign.

Leicester started the season with two winless performances before alternating winning and losing in their next four games. After six rounds of competitions, the team is now settled at the 12th spot of the league table, tied on points with four other teams, namely Watford, Burnley, Hull City, and Bournemouth.
The Foxes are coming off a bitter 1-4 defeat to powerhouse squad Manchester United at the Old Trafford last Saturday, as per BBC Sport.
Paul Pogba, who was not yet around when the Red Devils beat Leicester in this preseason's Community Shield, played strongly and scored his first goal for United this season.

Their most recent match ended in a 3-0 shellacking of West Ham United on the road at the London Stadium last Sunday, the Mirror reported.
English striker Charlie Austin opened the scoring at the 40th minute before Serbian winger Dusan Tadic and English midfielder James Ward-Prowse added one apiece at the 62nd and in injury time to complete the three-goal shutout.
Leicester is the slight favorite to win over Southampton despite the latter's recent winning momentum.
