"Moonlight Drawn by Clouds" actor Park Bo-Gum has lent his voice for the show's next original soundtrack. In the historical drama, the 23-year-old Hallyu star portrays Crown Prince Lee Yeong.
On Oct. 5, Wednesday, Park's management agency Blossom Entertainment revealed that the Hallyu star successfully wrapped up recording an original soundtrack for the KBS 2TV drama, according to local newsoutlet News 24, as cited by Soompi. Although the release date for has not yet been decided, they state that the track is a ballad.
Park, who made his acting debut in 2011's "Blind," initially wanted to be a singer-songwriter. In a previous interview with Hong Kong's Men's Uno magazine, Park admitted he have not forgotten about his dream of becoming a singer.
The "Reply 1988" actor revealed he sent a video of himself singing and playing the piano to all the big agencies in South Korea when he was in high school. He then mentioned his interest to sing an OST for a television drama.
"Currently, I work as an actor, but I still love music," Park told the magazine, as cited by All Kpop. "If given the chance, I want to take part in a drama OST making and also try out for musicals."
Currently, Park portrays the only son of King Sunjo (Kim Seung-Soo)and the heir to the throne in "Moonlight Drawn by Clouds." Described as savvy, splendid and insidious, Lee Yeong is despised by his servants for being unusual.
The KBS 2TV drama, which premiered on Aug. 22, secured its number one spot in the Monday-Tuesday ratings battle. The 14th episode of the historical drama, which aired on Oct. 4, Tuesday, recorded 18.7 percent viewership ratings.
Due to its immense popularity, KBS Media obtained the rights to adapt "Moonlight Drawn by Clouds" into a musical production. The said adaptation is the first musical ever produced by the giant company.
