"How I Met Your Mother" ended its run back in 2014 and fans have been found wanting just a little bit more to the story. After two years since the finale, there are rumors rising up that there will be a 10th Season for the show afterall. Fans are excited to know what happened to the gang these past few years after being absent for quite a while. Actress Alyson Hannigan, who plays Lily in the show, teases that there is a possibilty that there will be a next chapter to the series.
There are discussions however, that the show could go either ways as a reboot or a spinoff. "In the last season [of HIMYM], I was like, 'We need to do a Marshall-Lily spin-off,'" Hannigan recalls telling his on-screen husband Jason Segal who plays the character in 'How I Met Your Mother,' Marshall. "He said 10 years ... and then we can come back," Hannigan said in an interview with Wet Paint.
Hannigan however, also said that it wasn't even really about Marshal and Lily, and that she just loves working with Segel and so she wanted to do another sitcom with him. It would be titled "Out by Lunch" because the two of them work so fast that they'll be done by lunch time, Movie News Guide reported.
Meanwhile, there are also speculations that a "How I Met Your Dad" would be the next planned project for the series. Although there were reports that the project was a go back in 2014, executive producer of the show Carter Bays posted via twitter that they are "really, truly not working on 'How I Met Your Dad' anymore."
So far, "How I Met Your Mother" star Segel is yet to come back to television. He recently starred in the movie 'Sex Tape', a romantic comedy alongside with Cameron Diaz back in 2014. He does a new project titled "The Discovery" which is directed by Charlie McDowell and he will be joined with co actors Rooney Mara, Riley Keough, and Jesse Plemons. The story is going to be about "A love story set one year after the existence of the afterlife is scientifically verified."
