Samsung will not rush the Galaxy S8 2017 release date but preparation for mass production of the next-gen flagship is already underway, reports said. Debunking rumors that the S8 will debut ahead of schedule due to the Galaxy Note 7 battery debacle, the handset will be unveiled February 26 with the availability to follow in the coming weeks.

So it remains a March release for the Galaxy S8 next year, like the Galaxy S7 before it, BGR reported, pointing to a credible Twitter post as source of the information. Apparently, Samsung is making sure not to repeat the same mistake the killed the Note 7 so there will be no rush in bring the new device to the market.

But Samsung's Galaxy S8 project has been set in motion, the Korea Herald reported. Component orders seem to have been finalized and they hint of significant feature upgrades from the Galaxy S7/S7 Edge, the report said.

"Samsung is making parts orders for the Galaxy S8. Several new, more expansive components are expected to be used," the publication quoted an unnamed Samsung supplier as saying. And among the first device components to be secured are for the planned S8 camera upgrade.

"Samsung's parts suppliers are already taking orders for the production of dual-lens cameras that greatly upgrade camera functions to match the quality of DSLR cameras," Korea Herald said on its report, which somehow aligns with the rumors that Samsung will copy the same camera set up that Apple has unboxed with the iPhone 7/7 Plus.

The report also picked up on the mounting speculations that in time for the Galaxy S8 release, the physical home button will be no more. "(Samsung) could remove the home button on the bottom bezel to allow more immersive viewing of photos and videos ... The company was recently granted a patent for a screen-based fingerprint sensor," Korea Herald added on its report.

And like in the previous Galaxy flagship rollouts, Samsung plans to power up the GS8 using two processing chips but both in 10-nanometer process - its in-house Exynos SoC and Qualcomm's upcoming Snapdragon 830. As seen before, the specific CPU that will end up on the device will be determined by market deployment.

In preparation for the Galaxy S8 March 2017 release date, Qualcomm will commence large-scale production of the SD 830 December this year, Korea Herald said.
