CL recently reached an important milestone in her solo singing career. The 2NE1 group member's first U.S. track titled "Lifted" nabbed a slot on Billboard's music chart.
The lively hip-hop song "Lifted" entered the Hot 100 chart for the period ending on Oct. 22, according to Billboard. CL's song landed at number 94 and marked the first time that a solo female Korean artist earned a slot on the said chart.
Released on Aug. 19, "Lifted" featured a collaboration between YG music composer Teddy and American musician Asher Roth. Its accompanying music video included some of New York City's interesting sights as CL roamed the city streets dancing with various hip-hop groups.
The said song's entry into the said Billboard chart also proved CL's rising popularity in the Hollywood music industry. The 2NE1 singer already appeared on the CBS program "The Late Late Show with James Corden" where she performed "Lifted" for the first time. TV host Corden even sang along with CL during the South Korean musician's guest appearance.
At this time, it is still unclear if CL will release an album in the U.S. The South Korean singer has been busy preparing for her first North American tour as a solo artist. Titled "Hello B---es Tour 2016," the upcoming concert series will have the 2NE1 group member visiting several cities in the U.S. and Canada.
CL will jumpstart her first solo concert with a performance in New York on Oct. 29 at the Hammerstein Ballroom, according to concert details posted on Siva Group Entertainment's website. Apart from New York, the Korean singer will hold six other U.S. based performances in Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Dallas, Atlanta and Chicago.
Meanwhile, the Canadian leg of CL's upcoming tour will have her visiting two cities namely Vancouver and Toronto. A performance at Sound Academy on Nov. 14 will mark the end of the 2NE1 group member's solo North American concert series.
