Marshall Bruce Mathers III aka Eminem has yet to make an official announcement of a rumored upcoming album called "Root." The album is said to contain 12 tracks and is supposed to be released this year.
Among the artists whom Eminem is said to be collaborating for "Root" are Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre, Kendrick Lamar and Jay-Z. It is believed Wisconsin-born singer-songwriter Skylar Grey is also collaborating.
Grey's participation would not be surprising as she and Eminem have worked together on several projects. She co-wrote Eminem and Rihanna's "Love the Way You Lie" in 2010.
Eminem executive produced Grey's "Don't Look Down" album in 2013 and collaborated with her single "Come Up for Air" from "Natural Causes" in September. He could still be part of Grey's future projects, the Oakland Press reported.
It has been years since the release of Slim Shady's last chart-topping studio album and his fans are anxiously waiting for his next offering. The artist has been lying low when it comes to album making though he has been occupied with live performances, collaboration with other artists and writing original soundtracks for movies.
While the "Rap God" singer is said to be working on something that could possibly be an album, there are problems along the way that cause the delay. One of the alleged reasons of the delay is lack of inspiration. There were rumors the rapper plans to move to England for the album's inspiration.
Eminem's fans remain loyal to him and his music. He is one of the most followed artists on social media, with about 91.4 million followers on Facebook.
Meanwhile, the 43-year-old rapper is recently seen in a documentary film footage. The footage is from "Stretch and Bobbito: Radio That Changed Lives" which is about college disc jockeys during the 1990s. At the time when rap had limited exposure, the show was about underground DJs hosting a rap radio show in a low-budget studio at Columbia University.
The footage of Eminem was recorded on Aug. 20, 1998, according to SportsRageous. The Detroit rapper became famous a few months after that with "The Slim Shady LP" which earned him Grammy awards.
