Evan Jones, 40, is joining the cast of "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2." He is playing Wretch, a member of the interstellar group of thieves, smugglers and pirates called the Ravagers.
Wretch will not be the only Ravager featured in "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2." The others are Taserface (Chris Sullivan), Kraglin (Sean Gunn), Gef (Steve Agee), Half-nut (Jimmy Urine), Brahl (Stephen Blackehart), Oblo (Joe Fria), Narblik (Terence Rosemore) and their captain, Yondu (Michael Rooker).
"Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" is written and directed by James Gunn. It also stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Karen Gillan, Sylvester Stallone, Kurt Russell, Nathan Fillion, Dave Bautista, Tommy Flanagan, Glenn Close, Kelly Richardson, Aaron Schwartz, Aramis Knight, Elizabeth Ludlow, Hilty Bowen, Rhoda Griffis, Cheyanna Lavon Zubas and Don Johnson, among others.
Bradley Cooper and Vin Diesel are also reprising their roles in "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2." They are voicing Rocket and Groot, respectively.
Recently, Diesel explained Baby Groot in "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" will be different than the character's grown-up iteration from the first installment. He told Collider, "He couldn't be more naive as Baby Groot. I always think of the Groot that we saw on the first 'Guardians' a college-level Groot, so he's not fully grown yet, but he's a man."
Before "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" hits theaters on May 5, 2017, Jones will star in "Shot Caller." Among his co-stars in "Shot Caller" is "Game of Thrones" star Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, who was appointed the newest Goodwill Ambassador by the United Nations Development Programme in September.
In 2002, Jones starred in "8 Mile" with Eminem, who turned 44 on Oct. 17, Monday. The former played Cheddar Bob, a good friend of Jimmy "B-Rabbit" Smith (Eminem).
