Despite the sad news that Yeun's character Glenn Rhee died in "The Walking Dead" Season 7 episode 1 titled "The Day Will Come When You Won't Be," the South Korean-American actor managed to make the audience laugh. He shared the time when he had bad news because he got a tick on his penis.
"What was cool though for me, I was kind of glad that it happened to me because I knew in my head that I was the only one that would be willing to share it with everybody," Yeun said. "I walked into the trailer that first morning (and said), 'Guys, I got a tick on my dick.'"
Yeun's character was not the only one who died in "The Day Will Come When You Won't Be." Negan's (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) bat also killed Sgt. Abraham Ford (Michael Cudlitz). The death of Glenn was a direct adaptation of the 100th issue of the comics.
For Yeun, the death of Glenn in "The Day Will Come When You Won't Be," which was directed by Greg Nicotero, was such an iconic moment. The actor did not even want the death to go to anyone else.
The episode also featured Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus), Maggie Greene (Lauren Cohan), Carl Grimes (Chandler Riggs) and Michonne (Danai Gurira). Carol Peletier (Melissa McBride), Morgan Jones (Lennie James), Sasha Williams (Sonequa Martin-Green), Dr. Eugene Porter (Josh McDermitt), Rosita Espinosa (Christian Serratos), Tara Chambler (Alanna Masterson), Father Gabriel Stokes (Seth Gilliam), Dwight (Austin Amelio), Enid (Katelyn Nacon) and Spencer Monroe (Austin Nichols) are in the episode, as well.
