Lee Min-Ho, 29, recently admitted that he could not control his nerves and excitement as he returns to the small screen after three years. The Hallyu star is said to be playing a dual role in SBS' "The Legend of the Blue Sea."
Lee, who gained widespread fame in 2009's "Boys Over Flowers," delightedly shared his thoughts on his comeback drama during a recent interview with local newsoutlet Chosun, as cited by Soompi. He revealed that he is both thrilled and nervous to be back after quite a while.
"I'm nervous and excited to see how everyone will respond to it," said Lee. "I get to act out two roles on 'The Legend of the Blue Sea,' including one as a conman and so I'll be able to show many diverse sides to me."
Lee then asked fans to look forward to "The Legend of the Blue Sea," stating that it has an appropriate amount of fantasy. Since it contains elements that are universally acknowledged, the SBS drama is expected to give off a more familiar feel to the viewers.
In the new Wednesday-Thursday drama, Lee will play the noble son of a county magistrate, Kim Dam-Lim, during the Joseon Dynasty (1392-1897). In the present time, he will transform into a cold-blooded swindler, Heo Joon-Jae, who uses his looks and wit to conduct scams.
Opposite Lee is veteran actress Jun Ji-Hyun. She will play the last mermaid on Earth, Shim Chung, who struggles to adapt to a human life after she arrives in Seoul from the Joseon Dynasty.
Just recently, the official Facebook account of SBS posted a 22-long teaser that offers a lens into the show's storyline. It showed the moments after Kim Dam-Lim got drowned in the depths of the sea.
"The released teaser is just the start as we plan to simultaneously show how Lee Min Ho and Jun Ji Hyun have perfectly absorbed into their characters," a member of the production staff told local newsoutlet OSEN. "They will be transformed in a way that is new, fresh, and unlike anything you've seen before."
"The Legend of the Blue Sea" is expected to hit airwaves on Nov. 16. Check out the second trailer below:
