Kpop girl group TWICE has been breaking records with their third mini album and its title track "TT." Recently, the nine-member group broke BTS' YouTube record for its "Blood, Sweat & Tears" music video.
TWICE, one of South Korea's promising Kpop girl groups, has been steadily gaining popularity since their debut in 2015. Under the banner of the agency JYP Entertainment, the girl band has achieved several milestones such as chart-topping tracks and sold out concerts.
The group's first two albums each nabbed a spot on Billboard's World Album charts when it was released. "The Story Begins" and "Page Two" debuted at number 15 and number 6, respectively, according to Billboard.
TWICE's second album "Page Two" is also one of the popular girl group albums in South Korea. Released in April, sales of its physical copy already surpassed 160,000 pieces. The number is expected to reach nearly 200,000 with the said album's digital downloads.
Meanwhile, the nine-member band's music videos for the songs "Cheer Up" and "TT" both reached impressive view count numbers on YouTube. Two months after its April release, the "Cheer Up" music video reached the 10 million views mark, while the group's new track "TT" achieved the same milestone in 40.5 hours, as indicated in the same report.
With "TT's" recent accomplishment, TWICE bested BTS whose "Blood, Sweat & Tears" music video previously held the record of fastest Kpop video to reach 10 million views on YouTube. The seven-member boy band's track reached the said milestone in 41 hours.
In other news, TWICE group members recently shared their thoughts on the success of their third mini-album titled "TWICEcoaster: Lane 1." In a press event, Nayeon recounted her and her fellow group members' reaction to the album's impressive music charts performance.
An hour after it debuted, the album quickly made its way to the top of online music charts. The Kpop idol girl group members had a screaming fest when they discovered the album's chart placement, Korea Times quoted Nayeon as saying.
