BTS is on a hot streak with the South Korean group's second full-length album "Wings" and its title track "Blood Sweat & Tears." Recently, the boy band broke another Kpop record on the Billboard Hot 200 chart, as well as the Billboard Canadian Hot 100.
BTS' new album "Wings" has remained on the Billboard Hot 200 chart for two weeks in a row, a first-time feat for a Kpop group, according to Billboard. Despite dropping from number 26 to number 106, the seven-member band's two-week inclusion in the said chart is still an impressive achievement. Other Kpop groups and musicians such as EXO and 2NE1 only held one-week standings in previous Hot 200 listing.
This is not the first time that a BTS album nabbed a spot on the said chart. The boy band's earlier albums "The Most Beautiful Moment in Life, Pt. 2" and "The Most Beautiful Moment in Life: Young Forever" landed on numbers 171 and 107, respectively. In total, BTS spent four weeks on the Billboard 200 chart with the said albums including "Wings."
With the Kpop band's newest Billboard achievement, the group has broken G-Dragon's previous two-week record. The Big Bang leader's previous albums "One of a Kind" and "Coup D'etat, Pt. 1" each spent a week on the said chart.
Meanwhile, BTS's new song "Blood Sweat & Tears" debuted on the Billboard Canadian Hot 100 list, as indicated in the same report. Described as the "Hot Shot Debut" song for the week ending Nov. 5, the said track landed at number 86.
BTS also joined Psy and Kpop group EXO as the only Korean musicians who nabbed a spot on the Canadian Hot 100. However, BTS's current chart placement bested EXO's previous record of number 98 with the 2015 song "Call Me Baby."
In a press release obtained by Yonhap News, BTS's agency Big Hit Entertainment applauded the Kpop group's Billboard achievements. The agency stated, "Entering the chart requires a large, established fandom on top of favorable reviews about their music."
