Fans must brace themselves to learn more about Caitlin Snow and her past. "The Flash" Season 3 episode 5 will introduce the world renowned researcher Dr. Tannhauser. The network has released a synopsis for "Monster" and it suggests the appearance of a new meta-human wreaking havoc on Central City.
According to Spoiler TV's description for episode 5, Caitlin's meta human powers continue to strengthen. Unable to figure what's happening, Caitlin is forced to contact her mother, Dr. Tannhauser. Her mother is a well-known biomedical researcher. Caitlin wants her to help understand what is happening to her. Looking for answers, she approaches Dr. Tannhauser. However, their meeting doesn't go as planned.
Caitlin is not very thrilled to meet her mother. She is not happy with how she treats her. This makes Caitlin angry and upset. The mother and daughter end up having a major showdown where Caitlin bring up "past wounds."
In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, "The Flash" executive producer Todd Helbing talked about Caitlin and her mother's relationship. "You've heard snippets throughout the show so far of how her mom is pretty cold," Helbing said. "When you meet her, you'll understand exactly what Caitlin has been talking about and exactly how their dynamic works. You can see how that's had a long-term effect on Caitlin."
