It seems that BIGBANG comeback is delayed again as YG Entertainment prevents the group from overshadowing the label's new female idol group BLACKPINK.
Rumor has it that BIGBANG will release a new single next month as a teaser for a full album in 2017. Member Seungri teased that the group is working on a single, although the rest of the gang remained silent about any upcoming song or album.
Some netizens think that the group will drop a single next month to stay relevant for the imminent Mnet Asian Music Awards that hailed many South Korean artists. Moreover, BIGBANG is reportedly countering BTS's and EXO's recent comebacks. Reports have cited that these groups to be the greatest rivals of YG's flagship male group.
However, latest reports claimed that BIGBANG and YG have decided to delay the release of the single or the album in order to make way for YG's new girl group, BLACKPINK. Due to its huge fanbase, BIGBANG will surely succeed in the charts overshadowing BLACKPINK's comeback.
YG Entertainment is working hard in promoting its new female group to make its status at par with their sunbae 2NE1. Upon their comeback, BLACKPINK will battle head on with Twice and IOI.
Another probable reason is G-Dragon's controversy in the past months. Kwon Jiyoung or G-Dragon has been on the headlines the recent months. First was when his private Instagram was hacked and leaked photos of him with Japanese actress Komatsu Nana.
