Film recommendation application FilmFish has been launched on iOS on October 31, 2016. This highly popular film recommendation app allows the user to browse through the recommended movies curated by "film buffs".
On the official Facebook page of FilmFish, a post was shared which states like "Hey guys, just got featured on SocialTimes, part of Adweek. Check it out!"
FilmFish application was the brainchild of film critic Joyce Kulhawik, serial entrepreneur Simon Borrero, actor Topher Grace, producer Daniel Posada and professors Donald Sull and David Hartzband from Massachusetts Institute of Technology. At Facebook, they also shared the iTune link where it can be downloaded free.
With the FilmFish app, the users are allowed to opt for the streaming services they are currently using or subscribed to. This will allow the app to recommend movies to the users based on their availability on those platforms. The User can choose movies from Netflix, HBO Go, Crackle, Amazon Prime Video and Hulu plus.
Now, the user can select movies manually or browse the curated lists for multiple genres like romance, comedy, action and fiction. The user can also tap the "Free for Me" button to filter the list to recommend only films available on his/her subscribed services.
Each movie includes lots of information that includes a short description of the plot, it's rating on Rotten Tomatoes, streaming services where the movie is presently available along with a list of similar movies that you may like to watch. You can also watch the trailer of the film on the app without being redirected to another page.
The FilmFish movie recommendation application allows users to create their own profile. You can save the movies to your profile to access their page anytime later. You can also mark a movie with "Seen It" tag showing that you have already watched it. In this app, you are also getting a feature called "Weekly Picks" giving you opulent scope to browse the recommended movies based on specific themes like "Chick-Flick", "Golden Oldie" and many.
The FilmFish App is available for free download on the iTunes App Store. News also suggested that this app is soon going to be available on Android platform.
