Chinese singer Leah Dou sang on Saturday for an intimate audience at The Wheatsheaf pub in Bedfordshire, England. However, it was just a warm up for bigger performance in UK this week.

On Wednesday, she played support to Bastille, an Indie pop band, on the British leg of their Wild World Tour. It was held at the O2 Arena in London, the second-largest indoor venue in UK. On the coming weekend, Chinese singer Leah Dou would perform at the biggest indoor venue in Manchester.

She grabbed the opportunity to be part of the UK tour and considers herself lucky to join Bastille on the concert. Leah Dou added that being able to tour somewhere out of China is amazing for her, especially since it is a tour bus, China Daily reported.

Leah Dou in UK is something new to her British audience, unaware that she is a big star in China since her divorced parents are considered the Beyonce and Jay Z of China in terms of star power. Faye Wong, her mother, is a diva, while Dou Wei, her father, is a rock star.

Whenever she is introduced, her musical lineage is always mentioned which is okay with the 19-year-old singer who said she is not annoyed or offended by the reference to her parents. “It’s nice, it’s refreshing to be introduced through my music, rather than something that’s irrelevant to my music,” she said.

The young Chinese singer could be referring to gossip about her personal life when her posting on Instagram in April 2014 of an intimate close-up photo of herself and a blonde female friend led to speculations she is a lesbian, Jaynestars reported.

She was then 17, studying in the U.S. and just released an official music video for her song “My Days.” Prior to the lesbian speculation, Leah Dou was also seen spending a day out with a male friend in Hong Kong which triggered dating rumors.
