Luxury sports car manufacturer Aston Martin announces its two new cars at the Geneva Motor Show 2015, the Vulcan supercar and the DBX concept car.
The Aston Martin Vulcan is described by some of the company's executives as "the most extreme supercar" they were able to build. The car sports a V12 engine capable of producing 800 horsepower, it also has a six-speed sequential gearbox equipped with Brembo racing brakes. The Vulcan's body is made mostly of carbon fiber in order to keep the cars weight at minimum.
The car's price tag however is not as light as its weight; reports say that the Vulcan will go on sale for $2.3 million, according to Bloomberg. To add to the cars ultra-luxury status, Aston Martin decided that only 24 will be made which adds another layer of exclusivity to the car.
During the Vulcan's presentation Aston Martin CEO Andy Palmer said, "The Vulcan expresses the dark art of Aston Martin to perfection"
The car will only be allowed to be driven on controlled race tracks.
Another car presented by Aston Martin at the Geneva Motor Show is the DBX concept car. It is a GT model electric car with all-wheel drive and a handful of electronic features. The DBX doesn't have side mirrors, instead Aston Martin installed small camera's that streams video into a small display located at the inside of each door.
According to Aston Martin, the DBX was designed in order to appeal to a different demographic that the company has yet to approach. The DBX futuristic and almost minimalist design targets women and the younger generation, according to The Verge.
