The new Chevrolet Malibu 2016 is already slated to debut at the New York International Auto Show and into order to tease its fans even more General Motors, Chevy's parent company, decided to release an almost minimalistic teaser photo of the new Malibu.
Based on the latest teaser photo, the Chevrolet Malibu 2016 sports a more stylist fastback design which is an upgrade compared to the current model in the market. Chevrolet added that the new car is made with a sleeker sheet-metal that accompanies that the car's wheelbase which was upgraded by around four inches.
Despite the increased body size, Chevy said that the Malibu 2016 is lighter by about 300 pounds compared to the current model. The lightweight body was made from high strength steel. GM vice president of global design Ed Welburn said in a statement, "The roofline has been stretched rearward, giving a more sleek profile, while the front wheels have moved forward, and front and rear overhangs have been reduced. These cues help Malibu appear more dynamic and sophisticated."
Many analysts report that the improvement in the Malibu's body design and dynamics along with its sophistication will no doubt increase the cars reputation. Official specifications have not been released yet but rumors say that the new Malibu will have a bigger interior space compared to its predecessors, according to Car and Driver Blog. Limited interior space was one of the upsets in previous incarnations of the Malibu.
GM sets the unveiling of the Malibu 2016 on Apr. 1 at the New York International Auto Show and the company promises that the car will be available for release before the end of the year, according to Auto World News.
