Ray Allen has made the decision not to play this season. According to the Bleacherreport, the veteran guard who hails from Miami Heat before he was released as a free agent, recently announced his decision, saying, "Over the past several months. I have taken a lot of time to deliberate what is best for me. I've ultimately decided that I will not play this NBA season. I'm going to take the remainder of this season, as well as the upcoming offseason, to reassess my situation, spend time with my family and determine if I will play in the 2015-2016 season." Allen is a two time NBA champion, working alongside,LeBron James and Dwyane Wade.
Although there have been speculations about his prospect teams before he made the announcement of not playing this season, Allen never confirmed any of them. Before the season started, according to The Cleveland, rumors were spreading like a wildfire that King James was working on acquiring him, but recently, news came that he might sign with the Golden State Warriors and work alongside Steph Curry. Despite turning 40 next season, his agent Jim Tanner believes that Allen is still capable of helping a team win championships. He also considers communicating with the interested teams when he decides to come back for the next season.
Sports analysts have nothing but praises for the aging 10 time NBA All Star. Ethan J. Skolnick tweeted, "If Ray Allen's career is over & he left the door open, he closes at exactly 40 percent from 3 point range. A precise # 4 a precise guy."
Allen's shooting ability has never withered through his years in the NBA and with his winning breed, there is no doubt, teams will want him for next season, according to multiple reports. Now, it is up to Allen whether he wants to extend his reign on the NBA.
