Just as when everyone thought that Naughty Dog will not be making any announcements about "The Last of Us Part 2" this year, lo and behold, a teaser trailer was boasted at the PlayStation Experience (PSX) alongside "Uncharted: The Lost Legacy." From the looks of it, the highly anticipated sequel might be putting Ellie in the spotlight this time around as she's on a mission in tracking down the people who have wronged her.
The four-minute clip showcased a grown up Ellie laden with bruises and battle hardened from all the hardships that she's been through since the Cordyceps outbreak. The teaser also featured a scene where the new protagonist plays the guitar inside a house with a couple of corpses that might have been killed by Joel. The latter then asked Ellie if she's pushing through with her plans and the youngster replied with conviction saying that she'll kill every single one of them.
Meanwhile, Naughty Dog's Neil Druckmann even mentioned during the PlayStation event that the upcoming sequel will be grittier than the first. Kotaku reported. Polygon, on the other hand, mentioned that Ellie will be taking a different approach while at play in "The Last of Us Part 2," though details to such were undisclosed by the developer.
It was also noted that Naughty Dog used a technology known as "performance capture" making facial expressions of the game's characters to look more realistic and fully detailed.
Albeit the timely announcement, the game maker highlighted that "The Last of Us Part 2's" release date may still be far fetched as of late. Nonetheless, Druckmann stressed that more info will be blurted out surrounding the game in the following months in which fans should look forward to.
