The latest details for "No Man's Sky" will feature a new patch update this week and an interesting glitch within the game.
Hello Games launched a new patch update for "No Man's Sky" this week for the PlayStation 4 and PC versions as the new update teased more epic space battles in the game. The update also fixes numerous bugs, like the recurring death loop that would happen if the game autosaved in "Survival Mode" when the player is about to run out of health, Eurogamer reported.
There is also a sound effect for calling Freighters, for climbing ladders and for using communication stations. Other bug fixes include a bug that would make the player character small. Fix for steam controller not being able to warp. Removed up, down, left, right as quick menu navigation keys to allow left handed players to move while using the quick menu. Page Up and Page down can now be used to navigate up and down in the quick menu. Removing duplicated planets from discoveries menu.
Fixed an issue with redeeming promo ships in survival, which would result in the ship being spawned above the ground. Missing ruins underwater which could cause missions to point to nothing. Fixed an issue which could affect ambient sound in Freighters. Changed the sound effect when using the Terminus Teleporter and fixed some rare crashes.
Meanwhile, a new in-game bug has been discovered as YouTube username Sirian Gaming posted a gameplay video featuring a Freighter landing on a planet, PCGamer reported.
Eurogamer stated that it one of the few in-game bugs that Hello Games would spare in the patch update, knowing how cool it would look like to have a freighter land on a planet.
Hello Games founder Sean Murray announced the "Foundation Update" as a solution to "No Man's Sky's" lack of expansion, features and numerous in-game problems, which affected the game's overall sales and reviews. The Foundation Update will have base building features, some tweaks and alterations within "No Man's Sky". Unfortunately, Murray failed to provide any particulars as to what the patch would include, nor did it define a specific time frame for the update.
While Hello Games is pretty silent about the "Foundation Update" in "No Man’s Sky", they did allude to the controversy surrounding the game since its launch, which has included the developer receiving backlash from players demanding refunds, having its own subreddit close due to hateful criticism, and experiencing a strange hacking situation with its Twitter account. Not to mention, the studio has been under investigation by the Advertising Standards Authority for claims of false advertisements, but Hello Games remains positive that receptivity is key in winning back fans.
"No Man's Sky" is currently available for the PS4 and PC platforms.
