Brooklyn rapper Duval Clear, who is professionally known as Masta Ace, turned 50 on Dec. 4. One of the celebrities who greeted the rapper on his birthday is Detroit rapper Marshall Mathers III, who is professionally known as Eminem.
Masta Ace celebrated his 50th birthday in New York City. During the event, a video of Eminem paying tribute to the Brooklyn rapper, was shown on a projector.
In the video, Eminem raps the verse of Masta Ace in the 1988 song "The Symphony." Aside from Masta Ace, the rap song, which was produced by Marley Marl, also featured his fellow Juice Crew members Big Daddy Kane, Craig G and Kool G Rap.
Eminem, who considers Masta Ace as an inspiration, recorded the video at his Shady Records studio. At the end of the video, the "Rap God" rapper thanks Masta Ace for being one of his biggest influences when he was young.
On May 13, Masta Ace released his fifth studio album titled "The Falling Season." The album has 24 tracks including the collaboration songs "Nana" featuring Deion, "High School S-t" featuring Torae, "Bang Bang" featuring Beej and Cormega, "Mothers Regret" featuring Heroine, "Mr. Bus Driver" featuring Nikky Bourbon," "Me and AG" featuring AG, "Labyrinth (Frankie Beverly)" featuring LT, "Young Black Intelligent (Y.B.I.)" featuring Pav Bundy, Hypnotic Brass Ensemble and Chuck D, "Say Goodbye" featuring Bundy and Wordsworth and "3000 Avenue X" featuring Your Old Droog.
In October, Master Ace was added to the Marvel's hip-hop variant album cover series. his 1995 LP titled "Sittin' on Chrome" was included in the collection, The Boom Box reported.
Before 2017, Masta Ace will be performing in Denmark, Netherlands, Germany, Norway and Sweden. He will also perform at B.B. King Lues Club and Grill in New York, New York on Dec. 29 and at Wellmont Theater in Montclair , New Jersey, on Dec. 30, according to Bands in Town.
