BTS will continue to promote as a six-member group during the holiday season while one of their members recovers from an injury. The group's lead rapper SUGA cancelled all end-of-the-year events this year after suffering an ear injury in a domestic accident recently.
Big Hit Entertainment, the label that manages the boy band, announced the news in an official statement. The statement reads, "On December 20, Suga tripped over the edge of a door sill in their dorm and injured his ear. He checked with a cosmetic surgeon immediately, and was given doctor's orders to stay away from any behaviors that could stress the wounded area."
The statement added that even though there were no further complications in the injury, doctors advised the rapper to refrain from any practices or performances for at least a week so that the wound can heal nicely. Therefore, SUGA will not be performing during the final week of the year and will instead focus on getting rest and recovering from his injury.
Despite his injury, SUGA will attend the "Nonsan Youth Year End Concert" and the "Citizen's One Mind Concert," scheduled for Dec. 22, Thursday, at the Forest Preserve, according to Koreaboo. However, BTS will continue to perform without their lead rapper at the remaining end-of-the-year events.
The label concluded its statement with an apology to the fans that have been eagerly waiting for BTS's year-end performances. The agency also promised fans that the band will work hard to end this year on a strong note and bring in the new year with a bang.
Meanwhile, BTS has been killing it with their latest release. The album titled "Wings" has been killing it on the charts not only in Korea but also in the United States. The group also sold outnearly 95,000 tickets to their American "2017 BTS Live Trilogy Episode III The Wings Tour" within a matter of minutes.
