The year 2016 is almost coming to a close yet BTS, TWICE and other Kpop artists continue to post impressive milestones. Several of the two South Korean bands' music clips, along with some of EXO and Blackpink's hit tracks, landed a spot on YouTube's list that ranked the ten most watched Kpop music videos for the year.
TWICE's music clips for "Cheer Up" and "TT" were included in the said video sharing site's top ten most watched Kpop music videos. Released in April and October, respectively, the two tracks landed at number two and number five, according to YouTube's list, as cited by All Kpop.
Two of Blackpink's music videos also made it to the said YouTube chart with "BOOMBAYAH" at number six and "Whistle" at number eight. Meanwhile, Kpop boy band EXO nabbed the fourth and tenth spots with the music videos for their hit songs "Monster" and "Lotto."
BTS occupied three places in the said music video list with "Fire" at number two, while "Blood, Sweat & Tears" and "Save Me" landed at number seven and number nine, respectively. The seven-member Kpop group has been breaking records both in South Korea and in other countries especially with the release of their latest album "Wings."
Meanwhile, topping YouTube's most watched Kpop music videos of 2016 is Psy's clip for "Daddy." Released in November 2015, the song featured 2NE1 alum CL and served as the lead track for the "Gangnam Style" singer's album "Chiljip PSY-Da."
In other news, BTS' agency Big Hit Entertainment recently shared some of the Kpop group's plans for 2017. In an interview with local reporters, a Big Hit representative stated that aside from completing the band's upcoming "Wings" world concert tour, BTS will also focus on composing new songs.
Moreover, other BTS members will also try to explore different career paths such as acting and participating in variety programs, All Kpop quoted the said representative as saying. Some of the band's members such as Rap Monster and Jung Kook have already appeared in various shows, while V is a cast member in the recently released KBS historical drama "Hwarang."
