"Witcher" developer CD Projekt Red has just announced that gamers who have been participating in the Gwent Beta can download "The Witcher: Enhanced Edition" on GOG free of charge. This version of the game from the franchise comes with several enhancements over the original version.
According to Attack of The Fanboy, the developer has been gearing up for the release of the "Gwent: The Witcher Card Game," a popular pastime featured in "The Witcher" series. Since the game does not have an official release date so far, it is still in its beta stage and gamers can sign up to play.
However, while the beta allows "Witcher fans" to savor its flavor as early as now, the developer has added "The Witcher: Enhanced Edition" for free as an incentive for checking it out. This version of the game includes improved cutscenes and dialogue, a streamlined inventory, and more.
For "Gwent: The Witcher Card Game," it allows players to clash with their friends in fast paced battles that combine on-the-fly decision-making, bluffing, along with careful deck construction. The game requires players to play their cards right and accomplish a three-row battle formation as they anleash their hands over a best-of-three series of rounds.
With spells, heroes and other special abilities that can turn tides in the combat, clever tricks and deception will serve as crucial factors in one's arsenal. Players will further enjoy more of the game through its narrative and adventures.
According to Game Zone, CD Projekt Red had previously asserted that "The Witcher: Wild Hunt" will function as the final entry in the franchise and that the developer was planning to move on to other things after the relast game's release. While it is busy working on project "Gwent," its next big job is expected to be the sci-fi epic "Cyberpunk 2077."
The release of this game might always be off although the developer has disclosed that it will be bigger than any project it has worked on before. Here is a trailer for Project "Gwent":
