"The Good Place" Season 1 episode 10 is titled "Chidi's Choice," which will air on NBC on Jan. 5, 2017. While the episode title refers to Chidi Anagonye (William Jackson Harper), the episode will also feature a big announcement to be made by Jianyu Li (Manny Jacinto).
There are no available details about Jianyu's announcement. In "The Good Place" Season 1 episode 6 titled "What We Owe to Each Other," Chidi was forced to go to great lengths to protect Jason Mendoza's (Jacinto) secret as Tahani Al-Jamil (Jameela Jamil) tried to bond with Jianyu.
In "The Good Place" Season 1 episode 8 titled "Most Improved Player," Michael (Ted Danson) interviewed Chidi, Tahani, Jason and Eleanor Shellstrop (Kristen Bell) about the death of Eleanor and Janet (D'Arcy Carden).
According to "The Good Place" creator Mike Schur says, Eleanor's birthday is a little bit of an Easter egg. In "Most Improved Player," Michael asked Eleanor about her date of birth when he was interrogating her.
"Her birthday has a connection to both a different aspect of the Good Place and also to an aspect of a different TV show," Entertainment Weekly quoted Schur as saying. "That's one that I thought for sure that I would be hearing more about from friends of mine, but no one has brought it up to me yet."
Eleanor was dismayed when Chidi made a connection elsewhere in "The Good Place" Season 1 episode 9 titled "Someone Like Me as a Member." In the episode, Janet showed a different side of herself while Michael's skills were put to the test.
In "Chidi's Choice," Chidi will be tasked by Michael to make an important decision. On the other hand, Eleanor is going to discover something, which may be related to the announcement Jianyu is set to make.
Before "The Good Place," Jacinto played in a runner in "Roadies." An actor of Filipino descent, he is represented by Alchemy Entertainment and Principals Talent, according to Deadline.
