LG may release the LG G6 earlier than expected. The flagship smartphone rides on high expectations after the previous LG G5 did not fare well even though the LG V20 did get some love.
The modular nature of the LG G5 prevented it from being one of the most loved phones in 2016. It was overshadowed by the unexpected success of the LG V20 and the South Korean tech company might have finally figured out how to make their devices win in the market. They are now reportedly planning on releasing the new LG G6 earlier than their usual hardware cycle permits them to do so.
LG will be releasing the LG G6 just a few days after the Mobile World Congress 2017 event in Barcelona, Korean tech news site ET News reported. They may unveil the G6 at the MWC 2017 event but the actual release will be days after the said event.
MWC 2017 happens around February and the LG G6 might actually benefit from selling earlier than they should because Samsung may push the Galaxy S8 release date back to April 2017. Android smartphone fans all over the world wait for MWC because of Samsung's new unveiling.
Earlier rumors suggest that the LG G6 will actually ditch the modular tech altogether seeing as it was not a big hit with the customers. In fact, there are more features that would help it to be a better smartphone than the G5 or even the LG V20 in the first place.
The LG G6 will have a removable battery but still have water resistance plus wireless charging, GSM Arena reported. It would beat the LG V20 which does not have any sort of water or even dust resistance for the matter.
LG fans will have to wait for the official unveiling of the G6 at the MWC 2017 event. The release date will also be announced during the said revealing of the new flagship smartphone.
