After the shining triumph of the Marvel film "Guardians of the Galaxy," director James Gunn continues to tease the fans by giving tidbits of what to expect for the film's second installment.
As of Feb. 9, the first Marvel's "Guardian of the Galaxy" has grossed an estimate of $333 million domestic and $441 million in other countries, for an estimated total of $774 million worldwide.
The hit movie starred Chris Pratt as Peter Quill a.k.a. Star-Lord as he joins forces with Zoe Saldana as Gamora the human weapon, Dave Bautista as warrior Drax the Destroyer, together with the voices of Bradley Cooper as Rocket the Raccoon, and Vin Diesel as Groot the tree-like humanoid.
Screen Rant reveals that there are few characters who will return together with the guardians. They were Nebula (Karen Gillan), The Collector (Benicio Del Toro), Yondu (Michael Rooker), and Kraglin (Sean Gunn). It was also speculated that Ronan the Accuser (Lee Pace) may still be alive. More to that, fans will get to know Star-Lord's father, who will be different from the Marvel Comics, as confirmed by the director. At least new female characters will be introduced in the sequel of the film.
Twitter user DrunkenShots confirmed with Director James Gunn if Captain Marvel will appear in "Guardians of the Galaxy 2," as per Cinema Blend. The director confirmed that fans will not be seeing Captain Marvel in the highly anticipated sequel.
The filming first installment of the movie took place at Shepperton Studios and Longcross Studios in the United Kingdom. The director revealed that they are filming the second film in Atlanta. The exact film location is at the new Pinewood Atlanta Studios, which was first used for filming Marvel's Ant-Man.
The second installment of "Guardians of the Galaxy" is set to premiere in theaters and cinemas on July 28, 2017.
