Attack on Titan Chapter 89 Release Date, Spoilers: Ymir Backstory, Eren and Mikasa’s Trial, Kruger Story

Copies of Attack on Titan chapter 89 will not be released until the February issue of Bessastsu Shonen Monthly, but the spoiler have arrived a lot earlier for Christmas. In the upcoming issue of Hajime Isayama's post-apocalyptic manga series, Ymir's backstory gets explored, the Shiganshina Trio of Eren Yeager, Mikasa Ackerman and Armin Artlert face trial and Dr.Yeager's flashback continues.

Warning Major RAW Spoilers for Chapter 89:

Ymir's Flashback:

Finally, Chapter 89 will shed a light on Ymir, the mysterious member of the 104^th Training Corps. Other than her other known persona as the Dancing Titan, Ymir is indeed a character shrouded in mystery.

Based on the initial spoilers for the upcoming chapter, Ymir sent a letter to Historia Reiss, detailing her story from childhood until the time she was turned into titan. She was orphaned from the start and adopted by an Eldian priest of the Church of the Wall. Apparently,the name Ymir was given to her by the Priest to pay homage for the Progenitor Titan, Ymir Fritz.

Ymir grew to become a high priestess of the church organizing their activity inside Marley territory. However, a raid by Marleyan soldiers uncovered their illegal activity and that forced her adopted father to surrender her as the leader of the cult.

The Trial:

Eren Yeager, Mikasa Ackerman and Armin Artlert face trial for disobeying military orders. The trial was also used to inquire more about the findings in the three journals written by Dr.Yeager. Historia Reiss was noticeably affected by the contents of Ymir's letter, staring blank during the trial.

Kruger Story Continues:

Kruger narrates to Grisha the history of Eldian people inside Marley territory. Illustration of Eldian's invasion of Marley was also included. Kruger is determined to inject the titan serum to Grisha and hand over the plan to save Eldian people from the clutches of both Marley and the ruler of the wall. The Attack must continue.
