The latest details for "Destiny 2" will feature a possible plot, dialogue select, fully open-world and a MMO style gameplay in the sequel.
Bungie announced a number of job listings on their website with specifics over "Destiny 2's" narrative plot. These job positions include a Head of Narrative Development, Narrative Director, and Live Narrative Director, with the job description of the latter two directly focusing on creating narratives in the "Destiny" universe.
However, the most interesting position would be a Live Narrative Director as it states that the successful candidate “will direct the storytelling efforts for regular, small-scale "Destiny" releases throughout the calendar year,” which could suggest that potential smaller free updates for "Destiny 2" could have more of a narrative focus than the first game, instead of just the main game and subsequent paid-for expansions.
The first "Destiny" game had a lack of of embedded narrative content which is missing for the gamers playing the game. Although there is a rich lore outside of the "Destiny" gameplay itself, and compelling content outside of game's proper through the use of ARGs, some have felt that things have been left a little bare when it come to the actual main title.
With an intended 2017 release of "Destiny 2", it will intersting to see how these people with their job titles could shape the narrative of "Destiny" and present new ideas for the sequel, Gamerant reported.
Meanwhile, several rumors are making rounds regarding in-game changes in "Destiny 2" in terms of gameplay as several gamers posted on the "Destiny" subreddit page, a request to have bigger worlds than the first game.
Gamers complained about "Destiny" having small and lifeless environments due to the small server sizes and heavy instancing, it was very hard to find other players organically. The succeeding DLCs like "House of Wolves" and "The Taken King" attempted to freshen up the open-world experience for "Destiny, but it’s clear that the fundamental foundation was holding things back.
Luckily, "Destiny 2" will no longer be constrained limitations of the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, thus Bungie will likely open up new ideas to expand the sequel as they wish, Some gamers wanted an full open-world experience and MMO style gameplay.
In addition, "Destiny 2" will likely have gamers pilot their ships and use it to explore the terrain of the planet as an actual vehicle.
"Destiny 2" will be a totally different game separating it from the first game and its numerous expansion storylines. Gamers are expected to have new experiences in exploring terrains from new worlds, new enemies to fight and doing new activities, making the gameplay more interesting to gamers, GameNGuide reported.
Gaming fans will get to see more interesting places on the planet they step foot on "Destiny 2" as to expand the stages and explore more ground instead of being confined to a closed and visible area.
More active environments are teased in "Destiny 2", instead of players going in the Tower or other social spaces between quests, they will be able to interact with NPCs and kick off activities in the active game world. Gamers are able to queue for activities, while still controlling their character, similar to "World of Warcraft", instead of going to Orbit to sit in matchmaking.
The sequel will likely feature a a dialogue choice system as it will lead gamers to have more interactive conversations with other players that also want to engage in. Dialog choices are extremely common in RPGs, and they have recently started to show up other games genres such as "Uncharted 4" and "Titanfall 2".
With a new game feature like that, Bungie will give a slight psychological impetus to players to participate in NPC conversations and each choice they make can create multiple impacts within "Destiny 2's" plot.
There is no release date yet for "Destiny 2".
