Qualcomm has officially confirmed that the Snapdragon 835 chipset will be announced next week at CES (Consumer Electronics Show) 2017.

The U.S. based chipset maker several tweets to show that the Snapdragon 835 chipset would be unveiled at CES 2017, GSM Arena reported. The CES 2017 event will start on Jan. 5 through Jan. 8. Recently the next generation chipset was spotted on GFXBench benchmarking site.

In the previous month, Qualcomm had revealed the Snapdragon 835 SoC, but it did not talk about its specifications. The SoC is manufactured by Samsung by using 10 nm process. The GFXBench listing has revealed that the it includes a 2.2 GHz octa-core processor.


The Snapdragon 821 chipset that powers flagships like Google Pixel, OnePlus 3T, Xiaomi Mi Mix, Xiaomi Mi Note 2 and so on feature quad core processor. The SD 835 is expected to deliver monstrous performance over its predecessor. On AnTuTu, it has managed to record a super high score of 181,034.

The Snapdragon 835 is said to be so powerful that it can run full version of Windows 10. It means the SoC is capable of supporting 64-bit operating system. Microsoft and Qualcomm have confirmed that laptops running may arrive early next year, MS Power User reported.

The Adreno 540 graphics of Snapdragon 835 chipset can deliver 30 percent faster and 40 percent more efficient than Adreno 530 graphics belonging to Snapdragon 821. The GFXBench listing indicates that its GPU is powerful than the GPU present inside all the flagships of this year.

One of the salient features of Snapdragon 835 chipset is its Charge 4.0 technology. By charging the device for just five minutes can deliver a battery life of 5 hours. Qualcomm claims that 0 to 50 percent power can be attained by charging the device only for 15 minutes.

The INOV (Intelligent Negotiation for Optimum Voltage) available on SD 835 is an algorithm that can determine the amount of power required for a mobile device at any given moment.

The Snapdragon 835 will be powerful several flagships that will release next year. The Samsung Galaxy S8, Galaxy S8 Plus, HTC 11, LG G6 and Xiaomi Mi 6 are some of the flagship smartphones that will include the next generation chipset.
