Shokugeki no Soma continues to provide details on what really transpired in the past, the events that set things in motion for Azama Nakiri's revolution.
For the past three chapters, we have witnessed Joichiro Saiba's evolution from happy-go-lucky prodigy to passionate student of culinary art. In the preceding issue of Shokugeki no Soma, it's obvious that the end game of Joichiro's run as the Asura of the food world is in sight and a new style of cooking emerges from the ashes of defeat.
Here are four crazy predictions and potential spoilers for chapter 198:
-Joichiro finds himself in odd spot after spending the last few months training for the B.L.U.E competition. At the end of chapter, it was apparent Joichiro's fervent desire to venture deep into the food world in search for new flavors is taking a toll both on his psyche and body as well.
-Although Dojima couldn't find Joichiro in his room hours before the BLUE, it's still logical for the young Saiba to participate in the competition. There, he will finally reach breaking point, succumbing to the peril of the culinary arts. At last, Joichiro tastes defeat that will change his philosophy forever.
-Dojima will show concern for his fallen friend, while Azami treats Joichiro's defeat as a sign of failure. Azami will then put the blame on Tootsoki and its system as the culprit behind Joichiro's fall.
-The bitter taste of defeat will force Joichiro to quit school and abandon his friends at Polar Star Dorm. Outside the prestigious culinary school, he will find new motivation to cook delicious food in the presence of his future wife, coming from the Yukihira line. From there, the Yukihira style of cooking will be born.
