It looks like Charles Lee Ray's spirit is not yet done with his killing spree in the form of the infamous "Good Guy" doll as reports say that the possessed doll will be seen once again this 2017. It was announced that the seventh installment of the "Child's Play" series is currently in the works and will feature the return of Chucky's "old friend."
Monikered as the "Cult of Chucky," it is said that the upcoming horror flick will pick up where it left off in 2013's "Curse of Chucky." Hence, familiar faces from the previous film will be back to settle another score with the doll from hell and they will be accompanied by Chucky's first owner - Andy Barclay who was portrayed by the then Alex Vincent.
As per the outline of the new film, Nica Pierce (Fiona Dourif) is now locked up in a loony bin for the criminally insane as she believed that she was the one who killed her family. She will be then in for a surprise as an innocently looking "Good Guy" doll was introduced to her as part of her therapy by her psychiatrist. The killings later on ensued after the inclusion of the doll in the mix that will make Nica come to her senses that she was not the killer of her clan. Andy will then come in aid of Nica, though, it is said that Chucky's bride - Tiffany (Jennifer Tilly) will be there to thwart Andy's efforts, Movie Web reported.
Meanwhile, Universal 1440 Entertainment's Glenn Ross stated that it has been three decades since the first film went out and the franchise is still making millions up to this day. He added that the devilish doll will be back with his usual penchant and will not stop until his death is avenged.
Production of the film, on the other hand, will commence this Jan. 9 in Winnipeg, Canada and will be released in fall of 2017, Entertainment Weekly has learned. Moreover, it is said that it will be an unrated version and will be available on Blu-ray, digital HD, and DVD.
