At every fan meeting, K-Pop idols are showered with thousands of gifts from their fans. However, Apink's Chorong found herself at the receiving end of something else after a rude fan threw his/her phone at the idol during a meet-and-greet with fans during a recent concert.
Between Dec. 17 and Dec. 18, the girl group held a meeting with fans at their domestic year-end concert, "Pink Party," according to All Kpop. During the meet-and-greet with the fans, arrangements had been made for the group members to go around the stage and hand out presents to the concertgoers as they performed.
During the event, Apink leader Chorong was snapping selfies using fans' phones when the idol was hit by an object that was flung from the crowd. It was later revealed that Chorong had been hit by a cellphone thrown at her by a rude fan in the audience.
Fortunately, the singer leaned back just in time and the phone hit her on the abdomen before falling down onto the stage with a loud thump that can be heard in the fan-captured video footage of the shocking incident. Had the phone been thrown any higher, it would have hit her on the head but Chorong being the true professional that she is, shrugged off the incident like it never happened and took a selfie on the fan's phone before returning it.
Chorong may not have reacted angrily over the incident but several netizens directed their anger towards the fan. One fan pointed out that being an idol is not easy and a celebrity cannot express their anger and frustrations if fans are acting rudely. The netizen noted that getting hit by a phone is painful and even he/she could hear the loud noise of the phone dropping as an audience member. The fan also added tha the fan's antics were completely out of line even if he/she wanted a selfie of the K-Pop idol.
This is not the first time an idol has had something thrown at them by a fan during a fan meeting. In October 2015, during a SEVENTEEN fan signing, a fan rudely threw a temper tantrum and tossed albums at members of the boy band before huffing away in anger, as Koreaboo previously reported.
