Puth started off his music career as a YouTube vlogger and used to share covers of hit songs on his channel, according to All Kpop. He released his debut album in January 2016 and shot to fame with his "Furious 7" soundtrack, "See You Again," featuring Wiz Khalifa.
Puth and Jungkook's collaboration joins a long list of collaborations between Korean idols and American artists. Some of these include PSY and Snoop Dogg, 2NE1 and Will.I.Am, G-Dragon and Missy Elliott, and JYJ and Kanye West, according to Koreaboo.
This is not the first time the BTS member has released a music cover of a hit song. The idol has also made covers of Justin Bieber's "Nothing Like Us" and "Purpose," as a dedication to his fans on is birthday. Apart from that, Jungkook also drove fans crazy with the release of his cover of "Paper Hearts" on Christmas Day.
