With Toonami bringing the English-dubbed "Dragon Ball" anime to Adult Swim's 2017 lineup, this year is definitely off to a good start for "Dragon Ball" fans. After airing the premiere episode of "Dragon Ball Super" on its late-night anime block, the network has released the preview for the next episode, highlighting the immense power of Lord Beerus.
Fans wished the premiere would last longer than its 30-minute block, but the debut only covered the first episode of the anime, Comicbook reported. Luckily for fans, it looks like Toonami does not plan to stop airing the English-dubbed version of the series, following its recent release of the preview for the next episode.
The promo video opens with King Kai looking surprised to see Goku move to his small planet. He asks him, "Why are you here, Goku?," to which the Saiyan answers that he has dropped by for a training visit.
Fans know that Goku visits the cozy planet to get all the help he can to fight Beerus. As he goes up against the humanoid cat, he has to give his power levels a boost.
The clip shows the God of Destruction fiercely manhandling an attack from an unidentified opponent, and the poor assailant is clearly left with no chance to retaliate. Towards the end of the video, the cat-like god throws the Elder Kai into a tizzy until the revered protector of planet Earth grows pale from the impact of Lord Beerus' attack. The end of the video shows Elder Kai telling Kibito Kai, "Lord Beerus the Destroyer has awoken."
The English-dubbed version of "Dragon Ball Super" started from the premiere episode of the anime, so fans should expect the plot to head into the "God of Destruction Beerus" saga. Meanwhile, a new story arc will kick off in Japan in February as the anime continues with the "Universal Survival" saga.
"'Dragon Ball Super' enters its new chapter, the 'Universal Survival Arc.' As you can see from the main visual, it'll be a full-throttle story where Goku and the rest of the Universe 7 warriors form a team to take on a tournament between universes!" said producer Shunki Hashizume via the "Dragon Ball Super" official website.
Toonami started airing the English-dubbed "Dragon Ball Super" on Jan. 7. The anime also airs on Crunchyroll Saturdays at 7:15p.m.
