Avid fans of "Once Upon a Time" will soon see a slew of familiar faces when the ABC fantasy TV series returns to the small screens. Latest spoiler news teased of several Disney princesses appearing in upcoming episodes, who will play a critical role in Emma (Jennifer Morrison) and Hook's (Colin O'Donoghue) lives.
The back half of "Once Upon a Time" Season 6 is set to feature the return of several beloved characters who previously appeared in the ABC series. Viewers already saw a glimpse of the Wish Realm Robin Hood (Sean Maguire) whose Storybrooke version already died in an earlier season.
Shown during the midseason finale of "Once Upon a Time" Season 6, Robin Hood's sudden appearance distracted Regina (Lana Parrilla) who was surprised to discover another version of her deceased soul mate in the said realm. Aired on Dec. 4, 2016, the said episode ended with Emma and Regina's missing their chance to enter the portal that would have transported them back to Storybrooke given Robin Hood's unexpected appearance.
Apart from the said character, avid fans of the ABC series will also see Jasmine (Karen David), as well as Ariel (JoAnna Garcia Swisher) in upcoming episodes. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, showrunners Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis revealed that the two Disney princesses are set to partner with Hook as "he and Emma face a daunting challenge that requires a big time princess team-up."
At this point, it is unclear if the challenge that Horowitz and Kitsis mentioned is linked to Emma's prophesied death. Neither of the two showrunners shared details of the said plotline.
Meanwhile, another princess will soon appear in the second half of "Once Upon a Time" Season 6. Casting activities for the ABC show revealed the upcoming introduction of the Neverland character Tiger Lily, according to TVLine.
Considered as the Piccaninny tribe's princess, the said character is known to have a crush on Peter Pan. However, the Tiger Lily version of the ABC series may be slightly different from the classic storybooks. Viewers can expect to see the new Neverland princess beginning episode 17.
