Exciting things are set to happen in the back half of "Once Upon a Time" Season 6. Latest spoiler news hint of the importance of Regina (Lana Parrilla) heart and whether she will be successful in eliminating her dark side.
The first half of "Once Upon a Time" Season 6 showed the aftermath of a spell that split Regina's dark side that created the Evil Queen. With her dark side removed, Regina has been doing her best to protect Storybrooke and her friends, as well as finding a way to defeat the Evil Queen.
However, the midseason 6 finale of the ABC series showed Regina reverting to her dark side when she killed the wish realm versions of Snow (Ginnifer Goodwin) and Charming (Josh Dallas). Released on Dec. 4, the said episode featured Regina's attempts to get Emma (Jennifer Morrison) to remember her life in Storybrooke and her role as a Savior following a wish that the Evil Queen made that transported the said protagonist to another realm.
Regina's murderous action proved that she still has a black heart and a dark side remaining inside her. Recently, showrunners Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis shared in an interview with Entertainment Weekly that the bottom half of Season 6 will tackle whether Regina can exist without having to dip into her evil side.
Kitsis commented that some of the storylines in upcoming episodes will deeply explore the mythos surrounding the separation of a person's dark and good sides. The true condition of Regina's heart will also play an important role in the bottom half of Season 6, according to Horowitz.
In other news, with Regina and Emma trapped in the wish realm, the two protagonists will meet a familiar face who might help them find their way back to Storybrooke. Pinocchio, also known as August Booth (Eion Bailey), is set to appear in an upcoming episode, according to TVLine.
"Once Upon a Time" Season 6 is scheduled to release its midseason premiere in March 2017 on ABC. Watch a teaser clip for the said episode below:
