Apple recently announced the Apple MacBook (2015) which is the company's thinnest notebook yet. The device is expected to battle with other prime notebooks and hybrid devices in the market, including the Microsoft Surface Pro 3.
Apple boasted at its recent Spring Forward event that it challenged itself in making a thinner device, but with cutting edge features.
Meanwhile, when Microsoft Surface Pro 3 was released in June 2014, it targeted MacBook Air users fronting that it offers the perks and functions of both tablet and laptop. The tablet-laptop hybrid recently received the "best tablet award" at the GSMA ceremony. Microsoft published that the Surface Pro 3's price starts at $799, making it one of the most affordable notebooks in the market.

Dimensions
The new Apple MacBook has dimensions of 11.04 x 7.74 x .14-.52 inches and is very lightweight in comparison even with the MacBook Air with over 900 grams. The Microsoft Surface 3 has dimensions of 292.10 x 201.40 x 9.10 mm and has a weight of 800 grams.
Screen Display
Apple MacBook sports 12 inch screen display with 2304 x 1440 pixel resolution, which is almost similar to Surface Pro 3's 12 inch screen panel with 2160x1440 pixels.
Processor
While the Microsoft's tablet-laptop runs with Intel Haswell processor with i3, i5, and i7 variants, the thinnest MacBook is powered by the latest 1.1GHz dual-core Intel Core M processor.
Storage
Surface Pro 3 offers large storage systems to users with 64GB, 128GB, 512GB, and 256GB models paired with 4GB and 8GB of RAM. Apple MacBook, on the other hand, offers larger storage than MacBook Air. The device has 256GB and 512GB storage variants in comparison with the 128GB and 512GB MacBook Air models.
Operating System
Apple's newest laptop runs with OS X Yosemite, while the Surface Pro 3 works with Windows 8.1 OS.
Camera
One of the advantages of being a hybrid device is having the best of both worlds. Microsoft Surface Pro 3 is equipped with 5 MP camera in front and back of the device. The Apple MacBook has 480p FaceTime camera.
Other features
Being a hybrid device, the Microsoft Surface Pro 3 packs other special features like stylus coined as Surface Pen and keyboard accessory that transform it into a laptop.
