"Lucifer" Season 2 will soon introduce Lucifer's dad, God, in its upcoming episodes.
On the show's Twitter account, it was revealed that the title for episode 16 is "God Johnson." Even though no other details were released, fans could not help but speculate on the possibility of God being introduced and named Johnson in the said installment.
In Season 2, Lucifer's mom, Charlotte (Tricia Helfer), was introduced. Charlotte is not the character's real name in Hell. Instead, when she went to visit her sons on Earth, she took on the body and the name of the one of the human beings named Charlotte.
By the looks of it, a similar storyline will take place when God is introduced. Even though Lucifer and Amenadiel (D.B. Woodside) calls him dad, he has to have a name when he is introduced to Lucifer's and Amenadiel's friends. Johnson could be the name of the person whose body God will take on in the upcoming episodes.
Meanwhile, the role of God has not yet been cast, but there are already some names of actors being linked to the highly-anticipated role. For instance, "The Walking Dead" actor, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, is being linked to the role, but his prior engagements with AMC could make this an impossibility.
Benedict Cumberbatch is another actor who could play the role of God in "Lucifer" Season 2. But "Sherlock" is close to being cancelled on BBC One because of Cumberbatch's tight schedule.
In other news, "Lucifer" Season 2 will return to FOX on Monday, Jan. 16. "Stewardess Interruptus" will serve as a crucial episode for Lucifer and Chloe Decker (Lauren German).
Lucifer will find out the truth about Chloe, and Chloe will be confronted by Charlotte about Lucifer. It has been Charlotte's goal to send Lucifer back to hell, but he has been refusing to do so, and Chloe is one of his reasons. As such, Charlotte will try to separate the two on Earth by telling Chloe that she needs to help her get Lucifer back to his family.
"Lucifer" Season 2 airs Mondays at 9 p.m. EST on FOX.
