After the winter break, the cast and crew of "Outlander" Season 3 are all back in production. Sam Heughan, Caitriona Balfe and the rest of the cast will be moving to Dunure Castle in Scotland to continue filming the remaining scenes of Season 3 before they all transfer to South Africa in May.
Some parts of "Outlander" Season 3 was previously filmed in Ayrshire. On Jan. 30, the entire cast will go to Dunure to finish their last leg of production in Scotland. The holiday hiatus was shortened from six weeks to two weeks in order for the show to finish the filming.
Councilor Bill Grant, in-charge of tourism told The Scottish Sun that he is happy that the show chose Dunure as a production location. He added that the background of the castle and the coastline would be a perfect setting for the hit Starz time travel series.
Meanwhile, fans are excited to see the stars of "Outlander" Season 3, including Heughan and Balfe, who will be gracing Seattle's Emerald City Comicon in March. The announcement was made on Emerald City Comicon Facebook page.
The tickets for the VIP package were already sold out. Emerald City Comicon is offering an autograph pre-sales even before the event. Heughan and Balfe would be providing photo ops, which will be announced in the upcoming weeks.
As with the production, one of the most essential scenes of "Outlander" Season 3 has already been filmed. The print shop scene that sees the reunion of Jaime (Heughan) and Claire (Balfe) after 20 long years was taken from the "Voyager," the third book in Diana Gabaldon's book series.
"I think it was written very beautifully," Balfe told Entertainment Weekly. "Matt B. Roberts wrote it. It has every emotion in it. The excitement, the tentativeness, the nerves, everything. I think it's really beautiful."
In "Outlander" Season 3, Claire would return to Jaime through the stones. The two beloved characters would reunite at the print shop, where Jaime works. She previously thought that he died at the battle of Culloden when she escaped before the battle and returned to Boston.
Spoilers for Season 3 has been scarced. Writer and executive producer Matthew Roberts revealed that he is not interested in releasing spoilers and conducting any press release.
