Xiaomi's Mi 4C smartphone could be receiving its updated operating system soon after the device has been spotted on benchmarking website Geekbench. The company is reportedly testing the latest Android Nougat firmware on the said device.
The Xiaomi Mi 4C was released in China in 2016 with an Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system out-of-the-box. Now, the company is on the works with an upgraded operating system as the listing revealed on Geekbench.
In the said listing, the Xiaomi Mi 4c marked 1219 points in the single-core test while it scored 2581 points in the multi-core test, The Mobile Indian has learned. The specs revealed by Geekbench listing show the device sporting a 2GB of RAM and Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 1.63 GHz hexa-core processor.
On the other hand, Nashville Chatter reported another Geekbench listing with the Xiaomi Mi 4C scoring 648 in the single-core test, while getting 1805 score on the multi-core test. The said device is the 3GB RAM variant of the Mi 4C, which is a high-end offering of the phone.
The two Mi 4C variants' software is based on the Android 7.1.1 Nougat firmware, which suggests that Xiaomi will be skipping the initial version 7.0 of the operating system and will head straight to the latest version.
The full specs of the Xiaomi Mi 4C smartphone include a 5-inch IPS LCD display screen with full HD (1920x1080 pixels) resolution. Its internal chassis is fueled by Snapdragon 808 processor, an Adreno 418 GPU and an expandable internal storage available in two variants of 16GB (2GB of RAM) and 32GB (3GB of RAM). Its software runs the Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system with MIUI 7 interface on top of it.
In its optics department, the handset sports a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front camera. The device houses a non-removable battery of 3080mAh, and will have dimensions of 138.1 x 69.6 x 7.8mm and will weigh 132 grams.
Besides, the Xiaomi Mi 4C offers dual micro SD card slots, Quick Charge 2.o technology, USB-C, and 4G connectivity. It is available in Black, Blue, Orange, Pink, and White colours options.
No official details about the rollout of Android 7.1.1 Nougat update are released by Xiaomi to the aforementioned devices. But previous rumors have revealed that Xiaomi may release MIUI 9 software with Nougat update.
