Canadian singer Celine Dion is officially in Team Gwen Stefani in "The Voice" Season 12. She will lend her talents to help the contestants on NBC's singing competition for The Battle round. She tweeted on Jan. 26, Thursday, a photo with Stefani, announcing her upcoming appearance in the popular show.
Dion is gradually returning to the spotlight after losing her husband René Angélil, who died of throat cancer on Jan. 14, 2016. She has been approached to be one of the coaches of "The Voice" but the pop diva politely declined, TMZ reported.
The 48-year-old songstress is having a demanding schedule in Las Vegas, hence, cannot accept the several month-long commitment. She takes Caesars Palace's The Colosseum stage four days a week, according to Daily Mail.
Furthermore, Dion is set to tour Europe in June and July and will be across 14 cities, including Germany, Sweden, Denmark, Switzerland and the United Kingdom to perform 16 shows. She accepted the offer to coach Team Stefani's singers as it only requires two days of filming.
Stefani will return to "The Voice" following a season off to promote her new album, "This Is What the Truth Feels Like." She is excited to have an A-list help from Dion and was all-praises for the Canadian songstress when the two of them recently guested on the "Today" show.
"There's nobody like Celine," Stefani said during the talk show. "To get like the prize right here, everybody's going to be so mad, the other coaches, that I got you."
The "No Doubt" singer added she was blown away by the unbelievable life story of the "My Heart Will Go On" hitmaker. She said Dion has a gift to speak to the whole world through music.
Dion did not hesitate to return the praise. She confessed she has known Stefani and her career. She likewise expressed she is honored to be working with the former No Doubt vocalist.
Aside from Stefani, other "The Voice" coaches are Adam Levine, Blake Shelton and Alicia Keys. The singing competition's Season 12 will premiere on Feb. 27.
