After playing an illegitimate son in the 2016 MBC drama "Monster," actor Park Ki-Woong has a new big drama offer on his plate. The 31-year-old actor is being courted to join Park Hae-Jin and Oh Yeon-Seo in the upcoming film remake of "Cheese in the Trap."
On Feb. 02, Thursday, a source from Ki-Woong's agency said that the actor has recently been offered the role of Baek In Ho in the film remake of the 2016 television series, according to Korean newsoutlet Sports Chosun, as cited by Soompi. The "Full House Take 2" actor is said to be reviewing the offer positively.
"'Cheese in the Trap' is one of the many works that he is considering," a source from Haewadal Entertainment added. "He hasn't confirmed his decision yet. We will announce his decision as soon as possible."
In its television series counterpart, the role of Baek In Ho was portrayed by 5urprise member Seo Kang Joon. The character is a talented pianist who is adopted into Yoo Jung's (Hae Jin) wealthy family. He lashes out at the latter because he believed that he was responsible for instigating a fight that damaged his hand, eventually ending his dream of becoming a renowned pianist.
Though details of the live-action adaptation are being kept closely under wraps, the production will reportedly begin in late April once the role of Baek In Ho gets confirmed. It will be directed by Kim Je-Young, whose previous project include the 2012 "Love On-Air" and 2015's "Wonderful Nightmare."
It comes five months after Hae-Jin shared his honest thoughts about revisiting his character in the film remake during a sit-down interview with Mail Business Newspaper, as cited by All Kpop. Despite anxieties that he may get typecast in portraying Yoo Jung, the Hallyu star decided to star in the project again because of his lingering feelings toward the said character.
