BLU's latest Tank Extreme 5.0 Android smartphone is cheap and highly resistant to water and shock. The new device has a shock-absorbent and water-resistant case which is perfect for those who love the outdoors.
One of the common complaints for today's smartphones is that they are too fragile. Just one drop can crash the device's screen or insides. One splash of water can also destroy the circuitry of a smartphone, rendering it useless.
The new BLU Tank Extreme 5.0 can handle most outdoor activities without breaking the customer's wallet at just $130, Liliputing has learned. It will be a good choice for those who are going out for a camping trip or hiking in rugged mountains.
Thanks to its thick and rubberized frame, the smartphone is protected well against falls. The screen is also protected with the Corning Gorilla Glass 3. Water splashes are also covered which means users will be able to use the phone even while raining.
The BLU Tank Extreme 5.0 features a 5-inch display with just 720p in resolution, Phone Arena reported. Powering the phone is a MediaTek 6580 processor with 1GB RAM. It is not exactly a flagship smartphone but it can be a good secondary or backup device whenever a user is outdoors.
Both of the rear and front camera has a 5MP sensor which should be enough to take photographs in good lighting outdoors. Internal storage only has 8GB but it can be expanded through a microSD card for up to 64GB. The battery capacity is rated at 3000mAh which will take the phone to more than a day or two on average use.
BLU's Tank Extreme 5.0 runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box which is fair for a low-end budget smartphone. Interested customers can buy the phone online through Amazon for $130.
