Valentine's Day was go-karting day for Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach and her race car driver boyfriend, Filipino-Swiss Marlon Stockinger. The two were in Cavite on Feb. 14, Tuesday, to do go-karting which was Wurtzbach's first time.
Wurtzbach and Stockinger recently went to Brunei for a vacation where fans welcomed them warmly. They wore a Brunei attire, went swimming in Bandar Seri Begawan and had a seafood boodle fight together.
The Filipino beauty queen enjoyed the Brunei vacation two weeks after she bequeathed her crown to Miss Universe 2016 Iris Mittenaere of France on Jan. 30 in Manila. She will be returning to New York to do some works as she signed up with talent management group IMG for the Miss Universe Organization.
Wurtzbach and Stockinger have been friends prior to her winning the Miss Universe crown. She confirmed their romantic relationship in January during a live interview with ABS-CBN.
The feisty Filipino-German beauty queen expressed her happiness to have found someone who is secure with himself and understands her job. She highlighted their similarities like being half Filipinos and raised as Catholics.
On his part, Stockinger admitted their relationship is going well. He is happy to have known the beauty queen beyond the glamor and glitz of her job. He revealed his feelings for her is the same with or without the crown and loves her being honest.
"One thing I like about Pia is she's unfiltered," Stockinger told the Philippine network. "She always says straight what's on her mind... I like that because she's honest."
Wurtzbach is among the key people responsible for bringing to the Philippines the 65th Miss Universe pageant, which was the country's third hosting experience. Many activities and formats of the competition were enhanced such as touring the candidates around the country instead of just confining them in a single city, and presenting the ladies in threes during the Preliminary competition.
The Philippine's Department of Tourism under Secretary Wanda Teo managed to host the event without getting money from the government as a pre-condition set by President Rodrigo Duterte. The administration also mandated that the event should not disrupt any of the country's daily operations, Rappler reported.
